Laboy forgets there is no hitting the QB in practice

laboy8141.jpgThere was an interesting article by Bob McManaman yesterday on AzCentral.com that talked about the Arizona Cardinals linebackers having a “championship belt” for the player with the most sacks.

According to the article the belt was the idea of new Cardinal Travis Laboy. He was so passionate about it that he spent “$10,000-$20,000″ to have the belt made.

Apparently Laboy is taking things a little to seriously though. Yesterday during practice he hit third string quarterback Brian St. Pierre. Hitting a quarterback during practice is taboo in the NFL so much so that St. Pierre admitted he hadn’t been hit in practice since high school (or in a game since he’s a third string quarterback).

You have to wonder if Laboy is wearing the belt proudly around camp today because it’s probably the only time he’ll get the chance to all year if Karlos Dansby has anything to say about it.
