Are you ready to take a deep look into Charles Barkley?

Neither are we, but America will be subjected to going deep into Charles Barkley on September 5th… deep enough to see his colon.

Barkley has been asked to undergo a televised colonoscopy as part of the September 5th “Stand Up to Cancer” event televised on ABC, CBS and NBC simultaneously.

You thought having to watch Barkley try to fix his golf swing on a Golf Channel reality show was going to be bad, but this takes it to new levels. This seems like a (insert fecal matter reference here) idea, but at least it is for a good cause.

According to Dan Gross of the Philadelphia Daily News:

Barkley said that when he told his friend Fred Lavner, of NB2 Apparel, about being asked to undergo the procedure on television, Lavner replied they were “probably just looking for the celebrity with the biggest ass.”

Apparently Kim Kardashian wasn’t available.

Barkley will undergo the colonoscopy on Friday in Alabama.
