Amare’s number 8

No, Amare isn’t changing his number again. He is number 8 on the AOL’s FanHouse list of the top 50 NBA players.

Tom Ziller provides some interesting analysis including the fact that Amare Stoudemire “the world’s most efficient high-scorer” based on True Shooting percentage.

Amare scores 1.3 points per shot he takes. That is .27 points higher than the league average and his efficiency is better than Lebron, Kobe, Iverson and Carmelo Anthony.

Seems like a great argument for running the offense through him and running more pick and roll with he and Nash.

If Porter’s new offense can put the ball in Amare’s hands and he can stay out of foul trouble, he no doubt will be in the running for a scoring title and maybe an MVP.

Check out the rest of Ziler’s take on Amare and his top 50 list here.
