azsuperbowlblogger's Blog

azsuperbowlblogger

After researching other Super Bowl sites, I realized there was not a whole lot of really useful information for football fans, locals, or those who may be traveling here to Arizona for NFL games, the BCS Fiesta Bowl and/or Super Bowl XLII. I decided to create a site that I would want to check out, full of information from locals about the area and what is going on here, for NFL games or Super Bowl XLII, so AZ Super Bowl Blog was born.

Super Bowl Mike: Giants Fans

By azsuperbowlblogger on February 6th, 2008

super-bowl-mike.JPG

Giants Fans Well Sunday certainly didn’t turn out like I had hoped! I will say for a “Boston” vs. New York Super Bowl pretty much everyone was commenting that it was no where near the Yankees vs. Red Sox. Fans seemed a lot more civil to each other, at least where I was at the Yard House. For [...]

Super Bowl Mike: On AZ Super Bowl Transportation

By azsuperbowlblogger on February 5th, 2008

super-bowl-mike.JPG

Well I have to say, after all is said and done, I was a little disappointed in the way Arizona handled the Super Bowl. I understand the need to have events in different locations to control crowds, traffic and everything else surrounding an event like this, however if you are going to do this, free transportation [...]

By azsuperbowlblogger on February 5th, 2008

super-bowl-mike.JPG

Saturday Well waking up was pretty tough as the Big Game Bash Friday Night was open bar. We pretty much closed Margaritaville and had a 10:45am tee time, so when we were leaving I knew we were going to be in trouble. That’s one of the reasons I haven’t had any updates. [...]

Super Bowl Sunday

By azsuperbowlblogger on February 4th, 2008

My Super Bowl Sunday began at 7:30am, with a walk from the house to Westgate and the stadium to pick up the car we had left over night before it was towed. Media, parking attendants and others were already buzzing and there was a quiet excitement in the air. Westgate I went home, got ready to [...]

Super Saturday Around Town & Super Sunday Prep

By azsuperbowlblogger on February 3rd, 2008

My Saturday began quietly, but when I did leave the house around noon, there was a lot of traffic heading down the street to the NFL Experience and Westgate area! I decided to drive over to Scottsdale, 40 minutes, to see what was going on over there. Fashion Square was basically Scottsdale’s version of the [...]

Super Bowl Mike: Golf and The Big Game Bash at Margaritaville

By azsuperbowlblogger on February 2nd, 2008

super-bowl-mike.JPG

We got back to the hotel around 2:00am Thursday night. I have come to realize the fans really don’t start coming in until Friday. Every where we went Thursday had a decent crowd, but not what I would consider packed. Friday started out great with 18 holes at Ranchos de las Caballeros. I [...]

The excitement is starting to build

By azsuperbowlblogger on February 1st, 2008

We received a comment saying since it is almost Super Bowl, we should have a post every few hours. I’ve got to tell you for the first part of the week, it’s been relatively quiet around here- and I live two blocks from the stadium! Wednesday the parties really started to kick off, though there [...]

Super Bowl Tickets Part Deux Well, it’s less than 24 hours before I get on the plane for Arizona. I have come to the realization that I will not be going to the show! Unless by some miracle I get tickets while I am there (and they are not fake) it appears I will be watching [...]

Super Bowl Mike: Let the count down to Arizona begin

By azsuperbowlblogger on January 28th, 2008

super-bowl-mike.JPG

Well, although I am not physically in Arizona yet, I was there mentally as I was shoveling three inches of snow today. Yeah, 3 inches of snow is nothing, but with the winter we have had here in New England, it’s 3 more inches piled up on all the other snow from this winter! [...]
