Retirement for Warner? Don’t Buy it

By RaisingZona on October 7th, 2008

Much has been made about a report that came out yesterday that Kurt Warner was contemplating retirement last week after the Jets game, largely due to the Anquan Boldin hit that took place with about 30 seconds left in the game.  Warner admitted that he sent a text message to his wife, Brenda, asking if [...]

(Scott Allen writes for Raising Zona, which is FSB’s Arizona Cardinals blog. Representing the rest of the NFC West are 12th Man Rising, Niner Noise. and Ramblin’ Fan.) Trying to think of a way to explain how the NFC West is broken down this week was easy.  Trying to decipher what this week means for the [...]

Cards Crush the Bills 41-17

By RaisingZona on October 5th, 2008

What a difference a week makes. With all the reasons in the world to lose a game against a 4-0 Buffalo Bills team, the Arizona Cardinals came out and put on an offensive show for 4 quarters and stepped it up on defense in the second half to pick apart the Buffalo defense and to come [...]

End of First Half; Cards up 24-14

By RaisingZona on October 5th, 2008

We know a few more things now that the first half has come to an end. Arizona’s secondary is awful.  No news there though. JP Losman has an arm. Tim Hightower looks really good Early Doucet looks promising, though he did drop a beautiful throw by Warner Steve Breaston has done an admirable job filling in for Boldin Kurt Warner can [...]

Secondary Stinks

By RaisingZona on October 5th, 2008

How do you let JP Losman hit Lee Evans on a 87 yard pass for TD?  Antrel Rolle sucks.  He continues to amaze me, and that’s not a good thing.  Rookie Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie got bit big time.  Ouch!

Wilson playing; Edwards hurt on 1st drive

By RaisingZona on October 5th, 2008

Adrian Wilson, who was earlier ruled out, is on the field and playing.  He put a driving hit on Buffalo quarterback Trent Edwards, who was injured and had to be helped off the field on the opening drive.  J.P Losman came in and fumbled. Good start on offense so far.  Warner was pressured on the 2nd [...]

Touchdown Cardinals, up 7-0

By RaisingZona on October 5th, 2008

Things couldn’t have started out much better.  I feel bad for Trent Edwards, who was seen carted off to the locker room as the Cardinals were driving.  Warner threw a TD pass to Larry Fitzgerald.  7-0 Cards.

Things Looking Good in New York

By RaisingZona on October 5th, 2008

So far so good!  Good news from New York! The Seattle Seahawks have come out and played to my expectations and allowed the New York Giants to score on their first four poseessions.  New York looks unstoppable right now and Seattle just looks beatable, no matter who they play.  Tough start after Hasselback’s injury, but he [...]

Doucet to Make Pro Debut

By RaisingZona on October 4th, 2008

Third year receiver Early Doucet is going to get his first shot on the active roster on Sunday after being inactive for the first 4 weeks.  The move was necessary after Anquan Boldin was rulled out for at least this week against Buffalo. I am going to be very interested to see how the rookie receiver [...]

Boldin, Wilson, Berry All Out For Sunday

By RaisingZona on October 3rd, 2008

Receiver Anquan Boldin had surgery on his fractured sinus and has been officially ruled out for this Sunday vs. Buffalo.  Doctors have said this is an surgery from which there is a fairly quick recovery.  By having the surgery, coach Ken Whisenhunt stated this gave Boldin the best chance to come back quickly.  Also out for [...]

Thursday Thoughts

By RaisingZona on October 2nd, 2008

Three days and counting to the Cardinals-Bills game.  This week is the great unknown, but it should be fun to watch.  That’s kind of like tonight’s vice-presidential debate.  You aren’t quite sure what to expect, however it should be a lot of fun to watch, especially for all the joke material I am sure to [...]

Looking Ahead to Buffalo

By RaisingZona on October 1st, 2008

My counterpart Tim Redinger from BuffaLowdown submitted a post on the Cards upcoming game this week against Buffalo.   He thinks that Buffalo has what it takes to defeat the Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday, even though the Cardinals have the high powered offense. My gut feeling is they will be the first team [...]

Boldin Makes Appearance

By RaisingZona on October 1st, 2008

Receiver Anquan Boldin made an appareance today at Cardinals practice.  However, he did not participate in practice.  It is currently not known if Boldin will play this week or even when he will return to the practice field.  According to what I’ve been hearing, good chance he won’t play this week. “As soon as I get [...]

What They Are Saying About the Cardinals

By RaisingZona on September 30th, 2008

Darren Urban from azcardinals.com says the Cardinals need to tighten up the defense.  He also thinks the Cardinals would do themselves good by scoring first.  I couldn’t agree more! Jason Harris of the AZRedReport on scout.com reports the Cardinals are the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons.  That was also my fear if [...]

TV Crew Announced for Cardinals-Bills game

By RaisingZona on September 30th, 2008

ESPN.com’s Mike Sando reports that the game this week between the Buffalo Bills and the Arizona Cardinals on CBS, will be called by Bill Macatee and Steve Beuerlein.  They rank seventh out of seven CBS crews.  I’m surprised after last week they even wanted to send a crew to televise the game.  Well, I guess [...]

By RaisingZona on September 30th, 2008

Looking at what’s going around the NFL, more so around the Fan-Sided Network and what bloggers are saying about their teams today. First and foremost, I have to mention the Dallas Cowboys.  One of their bloggers, and I say one cause I know not everyone over at The Landry Hat agree on this, but it seems [...]

Just Like Drinking From an Empty Can

By RaisingZona on September 28th, 2008

The Cardinals were full of hope and promise just two weeks ago.  Now, they just hope to avoid disaster.  However these last two weeks remind me of great clip from National Lampoon’s Vacation.  You get your hopes up all high and your handed a gift, only to find the gift is worth nothing at all.

Boldin Hurt in Waning Seconds

By RaisingZona on September 28th, 2008

I had already turned off the game, so I missed the live event and thank God I did.  I just saw the replays of the hit on Anquan Boldin.  Uncalled for.  Ugly.  Unecessary.  Name your adjective. Reports are he is ok and tests are negative after being carted off into an ambulance after a helmet-to-helmet hit.  [...]
